Deep Fake of President Nixon delivering speech announcing the failure of Apollo 11

Many people don't know this, but Nixon's speechwriters had drafted two speeches concerning the flight of Apollo 11: one where the mission succeeded and one where the mission failed with loss of life.
Here is a deep fake of the actual speech President Nixon would have delivered, announcing to the nation that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had died while attempting to land Eagle on the surface of the Moon.

Smooth move by NASA canning the real speech until the concept of deep fakes arose and they could release it
I'm sure the fact that the "deep fake" footage of the failure looks so much more realistic than the "actual" footage of the success is just due to tech limitations of the time.

pretty common, Ike had a letter of resignation ready in case D-Day was a failure, documentaries are being made each year and constantly edited for celebs considered to be in the death pool

This is legit.
Deep fakes are going to be fascinating to watch once they go more mainstream. I can see it totally wrecking shop on big, global macro things like the market given the social media speed (and social media lack of quality assurance) of news travel today.
