Same, if getting Gas always use a credit card.
I have Chase and anything over a $100 purchase on my debit card I instantly get a text message.

The only email I received from capital one was one telling me my account balance was getting low and it went to my junk email. The email did me no good.

See if you can download the app and set up alerts to have it let you know every time its used over a certain amount.

Never use a debit card. In fact, if you get a credit card through your bank, they can set it up so you can use it to withdraw money like a debit card.

I started grabbing the devices every time i scan my card now. Gas pumps or atms just to see if they have one of those things on it.
