Please re-home your dog to a family that will appreciate it. Or humanely euthanize it. Either option will be better than living with you or being silenced.

We did it a few years back, we were living in a condo while they were remodeling our house for a year and our neighbor was the condo board president. He threatened to have us removed if we didn't do something about our dog.He would cry nonstop when we left, we did the surgery and it worked great for a few months then his voice came back so we had to do it a second time and now its been 4 years or so and he's been fine. Im really not sure what happened the first time but his voice definitely came back.

The vet was the one who suggested it, he said it doesn't hurt the dogs at all.

If it makes you feel better I wasted money on a dog trainer and for whatever reason we have 3 dogs and this one just gets anxiety when we leave he still cries at the door when we leave now.

Sweetie, my wife has 3 yorkies that are like 2-4 lbs I think I remember not being able to find a bark collar that small. I don't even really like dogs at all much less these little yapper dogs, there really wasn't another solution when you have a lease in place.

My dogs are watchdogs (border collie) or guard dog (Aussie Shepherd). Border Collie only barks if there is a legit intruder - human or varmint. Aussie will growl if she hears a noise, bark once to alert me to something that concerns her, and go full bore on intruders (usually a feral cat or raccoon). It is what they've been trained/bred to do.

My mom once fell and my dad (both in their 90s at the time) caught her. Aussie comes Lassie style and barks at me and nips at my hand. They communicate through barking.

I cannot imagine "debarking" my dogs.

Again believe me I didn't want to do that, but we were living in a condo while our house was being remodeled and we didn't have an option at that point. I wasn't gonna get kicked out and lose our last month and deposit over the matter. If we were at our house I wouldn't have cared.
