Story claims he put the money in a bank. Did the Fed say that they have never come across any of the serial numbers on the bank notes used to pay the ransom?

Not even that, they didn't even get the alias right. I think he called himself 'Dan Cooper' and in some media reports it somehow got switched to DB and it stuck.

A skeleton was found on the aTm campus last month and was sent to their forensics lab, it was determined that it was the remains of the champion of the 1957 Aggie annual hide and seek tournament
