re: David Allan Coe and Warren Haynes in booty shorts

i saw him at sundown west in west monroe in about 1974. i had never seen a photo and had just heard his music. I was expecting a country singer. the stage door opened to the sidewalk, and this tatted up biker dude just walked in off the street like he owned the stage. i figured out who he was as soon as he started singing.

I saw DAC at Texas Club sometime in the mid-2000s or so and he drank a whole damn handle of Jim Beam before he was even 45 min into the show. The show lasted less than an hour and the crowd got real restless. My buddy had a beer bottle broken over his skull that night and we spent the better part of it at the General.

ETA For the whole show I think he attempted to sing 2 songs and neither of them were his hits. He cussed the crowd out for not singing along and clapping with one slow song he tried to sing. If it was one i'd heard before I couldn't recognize it ....and the crowd couldn't either.
