Probably more accurate to say they paid tribute to her in the song rather than resurrected her. Vera Lynn recordings continued to sell in the UK throughout her life. She recorded a song in 1982 to mark the end of the Fauklands War.

I should probably confine my comments to the USA. Nobody younger than the WW2 generation had heard of Vera Lynn here in the USA.

I became familiar with her while watching World at War they did a lengthy interview with her for the episode about Burma...my signature comes from the song they used in the episode...
