Blm how old are your kids? We sent our 5 yo and 3 yo to a Montessori in Houston that we absolutely loved. Fantastic school. Let me know if you are seriously considering a move and I'll get you some details

I live in Houston and work a good bit in Dallas. Dallas is a lot cleaner and has a lot of really nice things. As others have said, the only real draw back I see to Dallas is all of the "keeping up with the Jones's". If you make 50k a year, you're expected to drive a 70k car. And although Houston is spread out, I feel like Dallas/Fort Worth is even more spread out. But a place starts to "shrink" when you are familiar with it, so Dallas may not be all that different in that regard. There's only certain areas of Houston that I like. There's a lot of crappy areas along the way.

McKinney, a Northeast Dallas suburb, was ranked as the #1 place to live by Time. The adjacent town of Frisco has the best public schools in the state, and parts of McKinney are in that school district.
Both metro areas have common issues, but they each have their upsides as well.
Houston is closer to BR, but Dallas has the largest LSU alumni chapter outside of Louisiana. Houston is more humid, but Dallas gets ice and strong wind.
