Geez, if this really happened I'm sure you would love to save an intruder in your home.
At this point she was very well aware it was not her home or an intruder.
Are you really this stupid?

She probably rubbed one out to him dying tbh

Lol wut? She’s being charged with murder, what the hell else do you want the prosecution to do here?
I think the point was she was treated much differently because she was a cop throughout the process because she was a cop. While she was ultimately charged with murder the case against her was probably diluted by her blue line treatment.

don't believe motive is a requirement, just intent. Despite her error, she absolutely intended to kill that guy.
Intent to kill an innocent person in their own apartment or to kill an intruder?

Seems more like negligent homicide or something.

DA doing cop a solid IMO. Murder is highly unlikely. Manslaughter would be more appropriate here

Ooooooooof

Not sure what her position was on DPD, but it sure seems like NONE of her training kicked in. She literally did nothing to help the victim. Wow.
Based on what I've seen, if nobody is in imminent danger, police don't just bust in to a room all alone. They retreat and wait for backup. So to your point, it doesn't seem like any of her training kicked in.
Have they brought up her record as a police officer? Does she have any bad indicators in her file? I still don't believe any of this was intentional. Just a bad bad mistake that cost this dude his life. I'm indifferent about weed generally, but it shouldn't be even considered in this trial. Jean's response was absolutely normal. Someone comes in to your house, you have every right to not back down.

If it was a reasonable accident, why delete all your sexts with your partner? Destroying evidence in a homicide isn't legal or cool. Also why no charges for this action? Why no aid given by her? Dude was still alive. Why would Dallas Police Association President Mike Mata instruct Dallas police Sgt. Breanna Valentine to turn off the in-car recording system inside the patrol car that would transport Guyger? This entire thing stinks like shite and honestly other officers deserve a revocation of freedom for their overt acts taken that night.

Of course they were, because it was his own place. Terrible tragedy, for both sides, just an absolute senseless loss of life and on the other side a life ruined.

I may not know every detail in this incident. She made some horrible mistakes that led to an innocent person getting killed in his own home. The part that gets me is what happened after the shooting. It's my understanding she did nothing to try and save his life. She should have realized she made a horrible mistake and shot an innocent man in his apartment. I would think she would do everything possible at that point to try and make sure he lived.

@FOX4 at 5 with @shaunrabbfox4 reporting live from the courthouse. The Texas Ranger testifying now says Botham Jean was eating ice cream and chocolate chip cookies at the time Guyger opened the door.

Well at least we now can confirm the weed was his.

There's that Blue Wall again.

Thing is, Guyger did realize she made a mistake as clearly heard in the 911 call, but she still failed to do anything to help this man. I cannot understand her lack of action. It is inexcusable.

Yep, they'd been sexting for over 16 minutes according to the DA.
Is there any way to recover these texts/pics?

Agreed. Her shooting a man who was eating ice cream on his couch show an extremely high level of incompetence.
Her actions after the shooting show how awful a person she must be. On her 911 call she said "I'm fricked" and "I'm going to lose my job" (while also texting her coworker/boyfriend), what kind of selfish, horrible person reacts like that while someone is dying in front of you.

They erased their texts after the shooting but yes they did manage to recover them.

Prosecutors said that throughout the day leading up to the shooting, Guyger and Officer Martin Rivera had been texting about meeting after her shift ended. In a text to Rivera several hours before the shooting, she wrote she was "super horny today," Hermus said. Later that night, about 9:30 p.m., she sent him a Snapchat message that said, "Wanna touch?"
quote:
Hermus noted that Guyger sent two texts to Rivera while she was on the phone with 911. One said, “I need you … hurry,” and the other said, “I f----- up.”

Man that texas ranger and defense got bitch slapped by checking his qualifications as "an expert." Liking this judge.
Edit: would also like to point out this pos texas ranger attempted to testify he thought ms guyger committed no crime of any nature, despite the fact he said differently in a warrant he obtained. A lot of dishonest things surrounding this incident. All of them are cops
