I think this is being lost on a lot of people. What teenage boy isn't trying to get laid. We've all done dumb stuff for it. This kid unfortunately and unnecessarily paid with his life. I don't think the dad walks scott free from all criminal charges.

True. I'm not saying the boy should've been shot, but if he was dumb enough to attack the dad (I'm not saying it happened) then he deserves the consequences. He should have more sense than to go f a man's daughter in his own home and then try to fight said man in his own home in Texas.

I don't if that's what happened, but if it did, then oh well.

If it were just a case of him shooting the boy, that would probably be true.

The daughter lying about him being an intruder and him refusing to follow instructions buys the dad enough leeway to get off, as a reasonable person would see this as a case of the dad being fearful of his family's safety.

ETA: Where did you guys figure out the kid was invited? Didnt see that in the OP.

I saw this story on TV this morning and they had reported it then.

KPRC article on this shooting

quote:

Deputies said the homeowner's 16-year-old daughter let the boy into the home on Bridgestone Ridge and Bridgestone Path.

Around 2:30 a.m., authorities got a 911 call from a girl who said her father shot a man underneath her sister's bed, and that the man who was shot took a bullet to the head.

According to homicide detectives, the father found the teen and there was a scuffle.

Though if the kid did try to start shite with the dad instead of running or just taking getting caught like a man...

For all we know the kid was the one standing his ground.

If he got into a fight with the girls dad in the dads house yes he could have been legally shot.

all it takes is that kid to have a knife and stab the dad. the dad bleeds out and dies and then what? then what's your story?

The only thing this kid was stabbing... nevermind.

But really, in this case we don't know the real story yet. He could've been an intruder, or his daughter could've claimed he was - both justifiable for shooting. But I don't buy the story that it's realistic for a daughter's boyfriend to be confrontational when busted in the sheets.

So the dad beat the frick out of the kid, kid hid under a bed to escape the dad and the dad straight up executed him.

This is not self defense, fricker needs to go to jail for a long time.

His children are so lucky to have a parent that cares enough to murder someone right in front of them.

you should have left when you were told to, after the daughter lied to her dad about not knowing you and you decided it would be better to fight it out, apparently

If this is what happened, then the dad needs to go to Huntsville and be on death row.

If he was the daughter's boyfriend that's gonna leave a pretty big emotional scar on her.

Especially if she looses her dad too.

They'll laugh about it later... "Mom, dad... Jim and I are getting married... Dad, don't kill him"

Okay. Don't show any specifics about what I said being wrong or anything. Keep thinking like a woman with your emotions. Facts be damned.

According to OT legal scholars, I can legally invite somebody to my home, get angry at them, start a fight, then shoot them.
