I'm with Roger on this one.
Whether it's the physical aspect of the punishment or the shaming, the bottom line is getting the message through to the kid that that type of behaviour will not be tolerated and will be punished each and every time. No matter which is the true motivational aspect, the bottom line is the end result.
That's " Old School" and it's what we need to get back to if we, as a society , are going to fix the "partcipation trophy" age groups from all the modern day "time-out" BS forms of punishment that flat out don't work.
Anybody who played football knows that a major screw-up can force a session of "Bull-in-the Ring"....a punishment that quickly cures all personality/team issues in one fifteen minute application.

There’s a lot of bullies on TD. The admins should crackdown on bullying but they won’t. They’re more concerned with being buddy buddy with owlfan.

I have to agree. The exceptional good parents I know of would never go the route this guy did.
Cowboy baw got the attention he so desired. Now he can hit up Mcd's and fill his fat face while reading comments on his video.

What are you babbling about? Just move on. You tried to claim a team running conditioning drills would be the same as a coach making a kid run as punishment, videoing it and blasting it on FB. That is all we're talking about here.

I hope you are joking. What is the issue? Kid gets suspended on bus for bullying, dad makes kid run to school, which is about a mile away from school. What's the worst thing that happens here? The kid gets some exercise? "Let's call cps. It's not like they have serious situations to deal with so they can waste their time on some non issue bullshite".

Of course he know's more about the individual child but now you're arguing that he is correct, by default, about his parenting choices, simply by virtue of being his parent and that any criticism is "projecting". If his method were say, beating the child (while staying within the law), would you stand by your argument?

I agree with this.. But you know how it is today.. If you don't post it on a social media platform it didn't happen..
But the kid bullied, dad punished him by making him run a mile to school... No problem. but dad records it, puts it up on youtube and then all of a sudden him and his son are getting all kinds of press because the dad was parenting..

I disagree with it but it can benefit some kids. I've never stated it can't be beneficial at time. I also don't question motives on the issue
How do you know the broadcast wasn't a message to other parents and school administration that he was doing something about the problem.

Hmmm. Well, I still communicate with my kids school in person or on the phone. I haven't made the leap to doing parent conferences by Facebook yet. Guess I'm just old fashioned.
