I read your original post as the coach would get fired for making his team run off campus as punishment, not taking in to account the whole videoing part.

I agreed with you. If you consider them "alternative theories" we have no argument. I just prefer to comment on the likely theory.

It's just funny how there's so many things in society showing crappy parenting and neglect, kids running amok yet we have an example of a dad doing something the OT "OMG, HES SCARRING THAT KID FOR LIFE, WHAT AN ATTENTION WHORE!"

Only a few people had a problem with the actual punishment. They just didn't think sharing it with the world was ideal. That's when people began making arguments like "maybe he'll think it's funny one day" and "posting videos on Facebook is an acceptable and common method of discussing disciplinary issues with your kid's school". And here we are.

I think there is a massive argument for this in a ton of cases of child behavior issues.
