As a Christian, I'm supposed to be willing to forgive.

But I'm not Jesus and someone taking the life of your child in unforgivable assuming it's not accidental.

I couldn't.

Wow.

People lose sight of the fact that forgiveness is for yourself and not for who you are forgiving.

Carrying around hate and anger only hurts yourself. Hopefully this dad had found that peace. I could not even imagine.

There’d be time afterwards for me to return to being a Christian, for that guy, not so much. I think during my three years probation I could find the time to go to church.

Dad forgives man who killed his daughter who was her childhood friend. He was in a gang and he and others shot up the car not knowing she was in the car. They have their first face to face and the dad forgives him. You can tell in the video he was genuine and the dad had peace afterwards. That would be very hard for me to forgive somebody if they ever did that to my son.

I've read a lot about how victims see forgiveness as a weapon against their attacker. By forgiving the attacker they don't allow that person to have control over them / their feelings / have the power to make them hate.

Very interesting concept IMO.

Nope. Should have followed in Mr. Plauche's footsteps.

I couldn't ever being myself to forgive that dirtbag. Especially after he had no answer at all for why.

It's easy to see the sense in this and grasp it's meaning, but to accept it as the truth and allow it to take hold and guide you may be the very definition of wisdom.

I’m absolutely shooting that guy in the face if we ever meet. Plauche style.

Dude shot her on accident. There's something not quite the same here.

Hate to sound insensitive here but anyone think that ole girl was 'stopped' to listen to music or was she giving a bj and/or smokin a blunt when she was accidentally shot. still terrible but this part sounds fishy.

That night, he and three other Ghost Town members drove the streets of west Oakland. Smith says they were essentially on a hunt, searching for rival gang members to shoot and kill.
They spotted a tan 1975 Dodge van parked near McClymonds High School, a car they thought was driven by one of their intended targets. Smith says they parked, walked up to the vehicle and opened fire.
Dozens of shots rang out.
What Smith says he didn't know was that LoEshé Lacy was also inside that van. She'd caught a ride home after finishing her part-time shift at McDonald's, and they'd stopped to listen to music when the gunfire began. Bullets struck her in the head and the neck.
The next morning, Smith learned that he'd killed his childhood friend.

I could never forgive my daughter's killer. With that said, I am not capable of taking a life. I could never forgive myself for killing someone else under any circumstance.

Maybe in this case I could after some time, seeing as his daughter wasn't the intended victim and they were friends. Something like the Aniah Blanchard situation though, I'm figuring out a way to end those fricker's lives.
