If you suck at golf that bad, the cart is always in the line of fire unless it's behind you.

I've seen someone shank a drive into a tee marker, sending the ball flying backwards at crotch level. Some people just shouldn't be on a course.

my golf game has always been extremely erratic. i was playing at dumas in baker a good many years ago and shanked a fairway wood so bad that it almost went directly to my left. it whizzed by another golfers face, about 30 yards away in the other fairway missing him by inches.

rattled the living shite out of me and i couldn't apologize enough to this stranger that i almost killed. he was understandably pissed, but kept his cool....i would have lost it, had it been me.

45 degrees is essentially in front of him but just at an angle. It’s definitely in the line of fire.

This feels like a 4chan style thread. Making a joke out of a father killing his daughter straight up in the title.

I've seen people somehow manage to shank it behind them before. I saw one guy break off his club head on his driver which turned into an errant projectile.

I know what you mean. I always feel bad if I hit a bad shot that goes left or right and lands anywhere near a set of golfers in an adjacent fairway. It's like you can't apologize enough.

Eh, maybe. Everyone shanks one every now and then.

He could have just as easily hit one off a tree or off the ball markers for the tees in front of him.

I know when I play I stay behind people teeing off. Across doesnt mean behind. Dad is dumb and I'm sticking to it

Yea it can happen. Any area around the tee box can potentially be in the line of fire. It sounds like a very unfortunate accident to me and the father must be going through hell.

Do y'all not get the concept of line of fire though? Sure there's freaky things that happen where the ball actually goes backwards. But that's so rare you can't really do anything about it. But according to the article, the cart was parked somewhere between the man's 9 o'clock and even with him. So probably at his 8 or 7. He had the right idea, but not enough.

Good rule of thumb is to always be behind the person swinging if you're gonna park the cart. That's considered "out of the line of fire".

Where does it say that in the article?

I assume there is a different article, because the quote about 45 to 90 degree to the left definitely is not in the linked one.
