Brown was sentenced to life in prison for the 2004 killing of Johnny Allen, a 43-year-old real estate broker she claims solicited her for sex. She was only 14 years old at the time of the murder.

Supreme Court made this all possible and I agree with the ruling.

The upside is it's no guarantee they'll be released. Henry Montgomery was NOT pardoned for a murder here in Baton Rouge of a EBRSO deputy in 1963.

But the Supreme Court ruling that Life sentences for juveniles was Unconstitutional set the precedent for these cases to be re-evaluated.

Wow. Born to fetal alcohol poisoning, given up for adoption, sex trafficked...she looks like she truly changed her life and used the prison system as her rehabilitation. Glad to see her get a second chance because she was obviously neglected since birth.

Does this help or hurt Bill Haslam's chances at winning the US Senate seat?

As he should be. He was 17 yrs old and skipping school and frickin off near Scotlandville HS(where he went). Someone called the cops(theft or truancy is debatable) and deputies responded. They didn't draw guns on the kids or anything. Simply walked up and questioned them. Montgomery pulled out a gun and murdered Deputy Charles Hurt in cold blood.

If he had been 13 or 14, got into a struggle with the deputies, or any of a host of more reasonable circumstances it may be a different story. But this guy does not deserve a pardon.

I wonder whose version of the story that is? The cops or his? I don’t want to defend him because if it was his gun that he was carrying around as a kid, he was probably up to no good, but the story being twisted by the cops would not be unheard of.
