"Vibes" and "connoisseur."

Was eating sushi with my wife last week when I overheard a patron at a nearby table tell the waitress that the sushi was "good vibes" - whatever the frick that's supposed to mean.

And connoisseur is used way too much by people thinking it gives the impression of an impressive word catalog, but you really look like you're a try hard. Just say you really like something. You're not a "pizza connoisseur" because you like to eat pizza.

[quote]Oh, yeah, also... "Iconic"

Yep, so basically, watered down another meaning.

Nuance and empathy are the two most overused words I see on reddit, by people who are incapable of either.

Major pet peeve here. "I don't have anything of substance to contribute, so I'm going to complain about the way a situation might look to an uneducated outsider. And I'm going to do so by parroting a word I heard 12 times on TV today."

I'll add "holistic".

I translate that word as some extra bullshite someone adds to their already weak list of adjectives to sell themselves, product or services as the second shelf crap it really is.

equality, the people using it really don't know what it means. they have it mixed up with equity.
