Holy crap. $700/month?!? I pay as a single, so I really don't know if that is more than you would pay through your employer, but it seems high as hell.

I'm not sure. We pay $325 a month now with a $2400 deductible. But I don't know if the ACA is a co pay system or what.

eta: the employer puts $1500 a year in our HSA

Because your income is more than 400% of the poverty level, you would not qualify for subsidized exchange coverage. The information below is about unsubsidized exchange coverage.

Household income in 2014:
768% of poverty level

Thanks Obama!

If you live in Louisiana, be sure to compare to the national average and other states.

Thanks Obama!

Thanks Jindal!

10,944 a year. I currently pay 1200 a year. Not eligible for subsidies because I make over 400% of poverty. Wife and two 8 year olds. Seriously, frick Obama.

Wait and check your premiums again after the March 31st deadline and the magical 7 million participants needed isn't reached...

$5546 per year, and it would only cover 70% of costs with an out of pocket max of $12,700.

Thankfully I work for a company who still offers insurance and pay $2340 per year with 80% coverage and only a $6K out of pocket max.........

No thank you.

Also above 400% poverty level, but if I click no for employer coverage, $5,833 annually for me and 2 kids on silver plan. More than twice what I pay now, but employer pays some of mine.

Only about $11,000 per year with about $8000 deductible for the family. That sounds like a hell of a deal, don't it.

Which means you are 100% under the poverty level of the OT. Sorry bro. Try again next year.

This easy calculator can tell you how much you should expect to pay if you were to sign up for Obamacare.
Only if you say you don't have coverage available through employer or your income is b/t 100% & 400% of FPL (this is actually a subsidy calculator).
BTW, the insurance (Silver Plan) that they are quoting is a 70% plan (very shitty).
Remember, it's not just the premium cost of the insurance (although that's what most people focus on), it's also the plan design (affects out of pocket cost) and network access (what doctors you can go see). The average employer sponsored plan designs are 85-90% plans.

The other main issue here (that you rarely hear anyone mention) is taxability of premiums. Employer sponsored plans are paid with nontaxable premiums. The exchange plans are paid with taxable premiums (at the marginal rate). That has a huge affect on cost.

Also, premium rates on the exchange these first 2 years are artificially low due to the gov't reimbursing insurance companies via the Transitional Reinsurance Fee that they are charging group plans ($25B). When that runs out, premiums will definitely rise...but of course that's down the road like so much of this Bill.

If you take time to look at all the facts, it's even more of a cluster f@ck than you may think (or I have listed in this brief post).

Get those facts out of here. We are here to subtle brag about our incomes.
