We've decided to adopt a cur/hound mix that was rescued from the flood. He is at the vet now getting checked out to make sure he's all good, and I'm going pick him up this weekend. I'm looking for recs on foods that are good for them, ways to handle them, etc. Any info will help and be appreciated.

It's cheaper than Episcopal or Dunham.

Edit: But on a more serious note, good for y'all for adopting one of the dogs rescued from the flood. Need more people like you in the world.

Do you have any other pets?

I ask because I picked up a young female stray that was as sweet as she could be. Turns out they play very rough. Kinda intimidated the kids and it snapped at my wifes weiner dog and took and eye out.

You'll probably get some more informed answers on the outdoor board. Quite a few guys use them as hunting dogs and can answer your questions.

As long as he doesn't piss on my floor, he can post for one hour a day.

I have a cat that's about a year old. The puppy we're adopting is 4-6 weeks old, so I'm hoping he's still in that shy phase. He's been very shy and cuddly at the shelter.

The stray I brought home was the same way but warmed up quickly. Lots of energy and loved to play but would play very aggressively. They are great animals can be a bit much for some

If my wife wasn't having our first child in 3 weeks I'd seriously consider adopting another dog. We adopted our first pup 2 years ago and she's been amazing

I can attest to this. We adopted our Cur/Lab mix, and we couldn't even get her to walk around with us when we trying to adopt her. Fast forward a year and her and my Daughter spend most days running everywhere!
