Wouldn't cultural appropriation be if you walked around telling people you're Native American, for some reason, and you aren't? I truly don't understand why people get so bent out of shape over costumes.

The same reason people name things after other warrior tribes.
Vandals, mongols, goths, huns, tartars, Vikings...
Ancient warrior tribes were vicious and badass.
