I figured out all the other clues around it, so I know the answer, but it still doesn't make sense to me, I even googled.
Clue-
"April is the only month with one"
The answer is "ani"

The answer is "ani"
It makes sense if you know that’s the plural of anus.

The answer is "an i."
Which is fricking stupid in a Crossword puzzle

Crosswords puzzles have gotten a bit slick over the years. Most times in the past when an answer contained 2 words, the clue would mention that, but I've found that is getting rarer and rarer with the newer crossword puzzles being produced or recycled.
I've also seen where there is a different variation on some spelling of a word in the solution. Sometimes it will give a clue "Funny woman Martha" and her last name is spelled Raye, but some puzzles will use Rae or Ray as the answer.
