Then I hate to break it to you bro, but your workouts before had to be grossly inefficient. You were probably overtraining, lifting while glycogen depleted, undereating or not timing nutrients properly, or some combination thereof. pretty common.
I mean come on, by your reasoning, elite olympic lifters should stop doing what they're doing and start crossfitting because it'll make them stronger. I'm not knocking either one, but it's basically a fact, even part of their marketing, that crossfit is a combination of strength and endurance training. It is not the most efficient way to train at either one exclusively.

not in that format.
it's more of a circuit training.
not "do as many deadlifts as possible in a minute".
this was a Crossfit Open workout this year with deadlifts incorporated.

Nah. I was adding weights every 10 days, thanks for assuming again.

I'm nowhere near those ratios and neither are most people unless if they learn the right technique and programming.

You obviously have no idea who you're talking to.

As long as he continues making assumptions, you are correct.

You are right and there never will be. The energy system are night and day. However fast twitch oxidative glycolytic fibers and anaerobic glycolysis take on both aerobic and anaerobic.
In other these muscles work efficiently and great in that energy system but will work well in the other energy systems but not as efficient. IMO many elite crossfit athletes train this energy system and the fibers the most

Wow. And you don't see this as a recipe for injury? It doesn't matter if its light weight or not you shouldn't attempt a deadlifts or snatch completely fatigued. I guess next you will tell us kipping pullups are no more dangerous than regular pullups.

Crossfit is a sham. I have talked to people who did it and are still doing it. You get mixed reviews...but do you get mixed reviews on running miles; lifting weights 3 x a week with cardio? No. Crossfit is borderline unhealthy. Just because people get fit does not mean it's healthy. I know a 28 year old girl who did it so much that she became an owner of a Crossfit gym in Texas. She became so obsessed with it that she basically defriended any FB friend who questioned her methods. I defriended her because I was tired of 5-7 posts/blogs today about what she was an "elite athlete." NO one cares but you. Her diets were poor -- so poor that I even wondered if she was getting anything from her food aside from proteins...no carbs, no fats, no sugars. The diet (some special name I forget) has proven failure in the past -- to the point of death. They do not know what relaxation days mean. It's all just another day to do more crosfit.
The bottom line that I see is that these are semi-decent athletes who had no athletic success in high school/college and that want quick results fast to fill that void. I know no one who was a college athlete who does this and I am sure they're out there, but not in droves. The body is capable of amazing strength but that does not mean the body should use that strength. Crossfit says to hell with that...use it all. Burn yourself. Don't stop.
I have been in excellent shape and was a track athlete in high school (ran the 400 and 80 and 800 and placed state in both). NO way in hell would I recommend any crossfit to anyone who wants to run or lift. It's unhealthy and it's a fad. Physical results do not mean anything. For those who disagree, come back and talk in 3 years. You cannot do that stuff everyday for the rest of your young lives.
