Yess sir may I please have another

That's the vendor's problem unless they offer a discount for cash. Will amazon or Ruth's Chris or British Airways give me a discount for cash?

And if you don’t do it, you’re still getting passed along the fee. You’d be dumb not to do it. Plus I get a lot more than 1% back

Of course you have to do it. But I dont get excited about rewards.

No it's the customer's problem because businesses just pass along fees.

I have zero, but I also pay it off completely at the end of every month. I had bad credit after some idiotic spending as a college student. Last month I finally got back over 700, which is a testament to how well I’ve handled my finances since.

But you’re paying the fee when you use cash anyway. Might as well get something back

They’re also not passing along the entire fee because it’s a free market.

at all the people defending their "rewards"

You're literally paying 3% more each purchase just to get 1% back each month.

what’s your point. Do you get a cash discount at target?

Joke's on you

Anytime a mandatory fee is added to all businesses, prices go up as a whole.

How do you not understand this? You really think you are making out ahead with your CC?

I made my point already

CC's are a necessary evil, but "rewards" aren't something to celebrate. It's like celebrating a tax refund, only much worse

It’s not linear for a few reasons. First, margins are slightly cut. Second, not all people are using credit cards. Third, your theory doesn’t work when there’s competition between stores. I’m definitely coming out ahead with my CSR.

No retort, but wouldn’t expect it because you’re lost in this conversation.

I use my credit card for everything. I pay it off every month except most months I just pay the minimum bc I can’t afford to pay it off all the way.
