Sheriff won re-election while he was in the Parrish jail.

About 25 years ago I was back in my hometown and my brother and I decide to go get a drink at one of the local bars. It's about 10:30pm.
Walk into this place and a bunch of guys I knew are drunk as shite. For fun they're jumping into trash cans full of empty beer bottles.
I figure they must have been on something. Never seen something that stupid since.

In a 1947, my hometown was nearly blown off the face of the Earth. Ship full of ammonium nitrate caught on fire and exploded killing around 700 to 800 people.
My dad was a kid when it happened and the stories he told about what he saw that day were incredible. Worst industrial disaster in the history of the United States.
Growing up here in the 70's and 80's, everyone knew someone who lost a family member or loved one in the explosion, including a friend of mine in high school whose grandfather was the fire chief and died with his men as they tried to put out the fire.
Texas City Disaster

My high school English teacher murdered her mother a couple years after I graduated. She used to complain around the holidays about her mother coming into town and hoping they make it through the holidays without killing each other.
Well, she finally ended up bashing her 87 y/O mom's skull in with a hammer over Thanksgiving break. The arguement started because her mom fell down the stairs after refusing any help. So, clearly murder was her only option.
ETA: Memory was off, if was actually in October. Her and her parents had just reconciled after not speaking for a couple years. They flew in to visit and the mom was dead within 24 hours apparently.

The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia
That visit to Taco Bell is probably the single most entertaining minute of film I've ever watched

We had a guy that was a 5 star QB. He signed with FSU, won the Heisman, and drafted #1 overall but the only thing he’s remembered for is stealing crab legs.

My guess would be Bill Belt in Avoyelles.

Searched for it on Nexflix a few weeks back to re-watch and I couldn’t find it. I’m sure it’s been gone for a while.
So, no fiestas for me.
ETA I see Thibodaux is well represented.
