There are places around here that you could take a 4x4 piece of glass up there and they'd slap an inspection sticker on it.

I know someone who just recently went and was told by the Inspection place that the rule has now been changed to any crack, anywhere, even if not within driver line of vision.
They gave them a pass this year, but supposedly that is now going to be the standard used. Cracked windshield anywhere = fail. There is probably a length requirement, but I don't know.
Ridiculous.

Never take it to a glass place to get inspection or any chain like Jiffy Lube or whatever. Always go mom and pop or some crackhead type place. Even as a glass guy rules that harsh are retarded

Just recently had this issue and was told the law is now any crack over 8 inches regardless of location is a fail.

they changed it recently. any crack 6" or more no matter where it is will fail. i had one on mine below my line of sight, inspection guys stopped me before i got out of my car saying they couldnt pass me

I've got one running vertical on the driver's side where the inspection sticker goes. The dude said 2 years ago he would not be able to give me one in 2 years. Time's up, but the crack has not grown and I'll try to talk him into giving me one.

I was denied at two different locations recently saying the new law was any cracks over 8 inches would not be approved. Of course my crack is at the bottom portion on the passenger side, no where near my line of sight

Maybe you can get a brake tag instead

I was just rejected because the crack was longer than 6 inches.
Find another place (too late now that you have the orange badge of shame [you have to go back to the same place]).
I passed in May w/ a passenger side crack dead center from the A pillar to the middle.
Not in line of vision = pass.

No crack windows but 2 months after I got my inspection, my check engine light came on. That's a rejection.

Same thing happened to me last year. This was the one on Jefferson following Drusilla.

Only the DMV would kick a man out for in excess of 6 inches.
I'm safe.

There was a small place my dad would go with a junky car
There’s a place in Bawcomville that would likely pass ANY car.
Last time I went I was missing a front left blinker, tint too dark all the way around, 7” eyebrow, tires sticking out past fender and likely a slough of other stuff- passed
