I’m trying to read the OT while at work, and people want to ask a jillion questions. Is it really that complicated?

I had no issue canceling two months ago. I cancelled to put it in another name for promotional reasons.

I told them straight up I can’t be won back over and it’s what I want to do and they had me set up a date I wanted it cut off.

Yep. We’re cutting them next Thursday. I’m tired of paying $192 for basic shite channels and mediocre internet speeds that isn’t working half the time. The thing that cemented our decision is when we asked how much to just get rid of cable and keep high speed internet, they said $120! Bye Felicia...

I just cut the cord because I agree. Cox sucks because they think they own cable tv and can screw you every which way because they think they own you. I went to PlayStation Vue using Roku sticks, eliminated the home phone and am saving about $85 per month. Still have Cox for Internet, for the moment, but I assure you, that will change as soon as I can find a suitable replacement.
I also have a gigantic old school antenna in my attic and bought a big splitter and hooked all TVs to the antenna and can receive about 26 local channels free.
In true Cox fashion, I’m eating a $40 early termination fee but with money I’m saving now through Roku/PlayStation Vue, this will pay for itself inside of two months.
Then Cox tried to charge me some type of bullshite $80 “Cox Care” cancellation fee which was supposedly explained to me and the “service” was also never explained. So I rolled up into my local Cox store and they backed out the fee without incident because they knew it was bullshite.
Makes you wonder how many people they’ve fricked over with the same type of tactic and many of those people probably never had the guts to question it so it ended being more ill gotten gains lining Cox’s dirty pockets.

Cox. They play dirty. Real frickin’ dirty. Trust me.

Cocks Cable

Just tell them you're cancelling because you're dying and don't want to leave any unpaid bills. The customer service person probably won't be too chatty then.

I must be the luckiest SOB alive. Earlier this year, I went into the local Cox office to change services. They ended up cutting my bill $60/month, upgraded me to Contour on 2 sets and upgraded my internet service. My total bill is $185/month for everything...with no increase for 3 years.
It’s worth it to me not having to fart around with everything else.

Right now I’m paying $49.99 for PlayStation Vue and again, for the moment $89.99 for Cox 100 Internet totaling $138. frick all that $225 per month bullshite and being locked into a contract which I bet they got your balls im a vice for what, 2 years? frick that and frick them. PS Vue is no contract.
I can’t wait to shove that Cox modem up their arse.

I did the same. I cut the cord back in November. I still have Cox internet as I have not had any problems with it. I pay $87.98 for Cox High Speed Internet Premier.

They will make you jump through many unnecessary hoops to cancel. Agree, Cox sucks.

I'm happy to answer your question. Before I do, however, how are you doing today?

Great...

I understand that you are dissatisfied with your Cox experience. What is it about Cox that you find unsatisfying?

I understand...

You want to know if just cancelling is really that complicated, correct?

Great...

Are there any boards on Tigerdroppings that you frequent more than others? I'm not sure I've seen you ask a question before.

Isn’t that hilarious?

“High speed internet is $20 if you purchase $120 worth of channels, 85% of which you’ll never watch. OR you can pay $80 for internet alone.”

frick you, you scum.
