I'm convinced many young people that still wear them are insecure and antisocial so it just gives them a convenient excuse to hide behind a mask while in public.

Then there's the mentally deranged like those Reddit folks. They have no hope.

Covid was the biggest fraud in American history.
Not sure why you say this because a lot of people died. It was real AF for them.

Was the response insane? Yes but covid was killing people at a rate vastly more than historically expected.

I know many of the people wearing masks are crazy but there is a decent percentage you might see at the store etc who are sick, need to get out and are trying not to spread a cold etc.

But masks do not work so why do it?

What are you talking about? Why do surgeons operate with masks on if they do not work?

I don’t know how those people survive in life, actually. It’s sad.

I'm currently going to physical therapy for an ankle fusion surgery and there are 3 women who I see when it's time for my sessions and they are wearing those paper masks that have been proven to be ineffective against even the germs of a common cold.

Two of these women are older-----70's and up and one looks to be in her 50's. The other patients in the place are not there because they are infected or fighting some contagious disease, they are there due to injury or surgery and needing help to get mobility back.

Now look at the death rates from all other things during that period.

So people just pretty much stopped dying from those things and died of Covid?

You sound like a masker.
Surgeons wear a N-95 mask.
The blue piece of paper that Covidians wear does nothing.

All those deaths are included in the graph. It illustrates how the number of actual deaths from all causes varied from normal expectations given the US population growth and aging.

It is not trying to show covid deaths only. Suddenly people were dying in much larger numbers. Funeral Directors were quite happy. A lot of other people, not so much.

It doesn’t upset me, it’s actually a helpful tool for the reason quoted…and to laugh at.

Now you are saying some masks work?

Make up your mind or stop being sloppy with your words.

Are you really comparing a surgeon wearing an N-95 mask while operating on exposed human organs to dimwits wearing a soiled cloth mask while walking their dog around the neighborhood?

Sure. Funny that the chart only goes back to 2020.

Still arguing about masks four years later? Sad.

All that info is out there. This is from the New York Times.

He’s the one that said masks do not work. So now you’re saying he was wrong as well? I agree.

Lol, stop being obtuse. It's like saying why should you wear a helmet when riding a motorcycle versus walking down the street?

Usefulness in one instance does not constitute usefulness in every instance.

But you already know that.

Right. Blanket statements can not explain a complex, multifaceted event but mouth breathers forge ahead anyways.
