We hear one close shot . Then a second later 5-6 gunshots in a row. We run to the kids rooms pull them out of bed on to the floor .
Okay no more shots, I call 911. They units are in the way I was 2nd person to call. So we actually stay laying on floor not knowing what's going on. We finally see cop lights outside. I wait for a while . i notice four more cops surrounding my street lights on cops outside walking. I go to garage and sure enough dead guy on the road in front my house .

I have two but didn't take them out. It happened quickly then silence. If I would have heard any type of force entrance I would have had time arm myself.Both entrance doors are dead bolted.

I hear ya man. No one knows how they will react in a situation such as that until it happens.
I keep my loaded 9mm by bed and my 12 gauge underneath it, loaded at all times.
