Could L'auberge Baton Rouge join St George & defy the smoking ban?

I recall a few years ago L'auberge, Perkins Rowe, and the mall declaring themselves part of BR, which had a huge effect on the St George movement back then.

Now that the smoking ban has fricked L'auberge pretty badly could St George reverse that ban in any meaningful way to entice that tax revenue back?

I think it is a parish ordinance. If so, then no.

If just city (or if cities within the parish can opt out), then yes.

Is it this, or is it the fact that you can go to the Beau and have significantly fewer trashy people with the added bonus of a sportsbook?

If l’auberge declared itself part of BR, then how is St George going to reverse the ban in BR? Also, you’re trashy for wanting smoke in the casino

I don't know if they would or wouldn't but if they did I would assume bc

A) they want to entice a significant Source of tax revenue into their area &

B) because why should any government forbid a private business from allowing their costumers to partake in a legal activity

I would say sports betting in MS has a far larger effect on gaming revenues than the smoking ban but the ban has had an effect and this is something that doesn't take state wide approval

Gaming revenues dropped 15-20% for the br casinos in the the month the ban went into effect.

Agreed. They should ban smoking, drinking, fatty foods, and gambling in casinos. Let's ban everything we disagree with, you judgmental frick.

This is coming from someone who doesn't smoke cigarettes.

So 15-20% of people would rather give up gambling over smoking. Interesting.

They didn't declare themselves part of Baton Rouge, they were annexed in to the city.
