Well, I work in insurance so I've got some experience on the topic. I'm curious as to what the circumstances on that other poster's situation was to how State Farm found out about a DUI he never got convicted of.
But what shows up on an MVR report is what you get convicted of. If you got a speeding ticket but the judge reduced it to a seatbelt ticket, then you won't have any violation show up on an MVR since seatbelt is a non-moving violation.
Insurance companies get their info on drivers 3 ways: CLUE report (claims history report that will only show accidents and comp claims), MVR report (driving violations report run through DMV), and information provided to them by the customer themselves. So unless that poster voluntarily told State Farm he was arrested for DUI or his DUI arrest involved a wreck, then I don't see any reason to explain how they found out about it.

I'm not sure of the methods used, I do know that it cost the insurance company to run a driving record check, a lot of the cases I've seen involve USAA and they must spend a fortune on searching driving/arrest records because they seem to find out almost immediately, and unless they've changed their policy, they drop you like a hot rock, for life, not trying to be argumentative, just relaying my experiences on the subject

ETA: I have an attorney friend that started a small insurance company(years ago, I'm sure there are better ways to obtain info now,) just so he could do record searches

Not sure I believe everything in this thread.
My buddies uncle owns all the farm lands going to bluebonnet extension to nicholson. We used to have bonfires and go mud riding out there. Many times the sheriffs have showed up and told us we are good but if our tire even hits the curb of the roadway they are arresting us for DUI. They knew we were not sober either.

How does cop get through the wrought iron gate? All OT'ers have these. And your private security should have stopped him before he got close to you.

If you hire an attorney worth a shite, I think you could probably get out of it.

impossible to ever get one with proper technique:
1. sealed fifth of your alcohol of choice stored under your seat
2. Cop has you step out of vehicle
3. grab liquor, visibly break seal, chug entire fifth. Should all be on his dashcam video
4. "Yes I am now drunk. I was not before when I was in my vehicle, but now I am"
5. cop "frick you, you're going to jail"
6. "For what? Not DUI/DWI. Prove I was drunk before I drank the fifth."
7. cop "I don't know. I'm a dumbass"

I mean you'll def get some BS ticket or charge, but not near as bad as a DUI
I have an older friend who got in a wreck in old mandeville years ago. He was lit up. He got out of his car and went across the street to a bar. He sat at the bar and started having drinks while he called the police. They showed up and he said he was so shook up from the accident he though he was going to have a nervous breakdown so he came to the bar and had a few drinks. No charges

Bar parking lot is private property
Posted on 6/9/17 at 4:22 pm to CAD703X
I think the answer is Yes because DUI is a Criminal offense and listed in La RS Title 14. Criminal offenses are enforceable everywhere.
You can't get a ticket for running a stop sign in the Walmart parking lot because that violation falls under La RS Title 32 which does not apply to private property.
