They would probably just tell you that you can't come in if you tried that with the HIPAA. You think someone working at the door is going to know or care about the ins and outs of HIPAA?
This. They can't force you to disclose your medical condition. They can most certainly deny you access to their store. ESPECIALLY since Costco is a membership store, I am sure somewhere in the membership agreement is language saying you will agree to their rules at any time or be denied entry.

I feel like a bunch of Costco people wear “masks” already. Every time I go there I have to watch my six because there are always a lot of Muslim types in there

That I don't want to pay to have the privilege of shopping while being required to wear a mask. I thought I was pretty clear about that. I'll renew when this is no longer their policy.
I just don’t understand why it’s such a dealbreaker. Most stores are going to do the same. There is a much larger portion of society they are trying to cater to that will feel more confident shopping if this is their policy. I don’t think they are worried about the handful of rebels trying to make a stand.

why are some so adverse to masks?
Is it politicized?
Because someone always has to be the contrarian.

I'm in favor. Who wants to breathe in the nasty germs from other people's mouths.

I was told that they will refund memberships for anyone unwilling to wear a mask. Called the Lafayette store today.

I'm not "unwilling", I'm "unable to for medical reasons" as outlined in their policy statement.

Why are there so many whiny bitches on this board about the masks?
Likely the same men that refuse the flu shot cause they are actually pussies scared of a needle but try to claim some other bogus excuse

Masks are just going to make the average person relax their other defenses and get a false sense of security. It's like playing defense in football where the mask is one player, but unless the rest of the team is contributing, it's not going to matter. Some people might be wearing their masks AND taking all the other precautions, and good for them.
Plus, if everyone is wearing masks everywhere we are just delaying herd immunity and this partial lockdown shite will drag on. That might mean a delay to the start of college football, which is just plain unacceptable.
And I got two flu shots this year, thank you very much.

Just saying....I have to wear a mask all day long at work.
Y’all are whining about having to wear a mask at the store....for what an hour or two tops??
Not that big a deal. Y’all want stuff to open up quick...well this is part of it.

Maybe it's a huge May the 4th Star Wars tie in. You can choose your Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Storm Trooper or Chewbacca mask.

Still dont want to wear something that has little value to the store. I dont believe in action for actions sake

I personally don’t think the mask makes much difference, but if it makes concerned patrons feel safer. The sooner we can move on.
I have worn a mask in store for a few weeks now per local ordinance. And don’t want to be the one look at me a-hole in the store. That is as bad as the Facebook Karen’s. Look at me the rules don’t apply to me!
