I sent my costas in to get repaired and they came back with a $100 charge to replace a scratched lens and $11.95 to replace the rubber nose guards (which is the only thing under warranty).
Anyone had this same experience?

What type of lenses?
I shattered mine, that are not the 580 glass ones, and it was $50.

They replaced both lenses for $100? That doesn't seem terrible.

Yeah, I had two broken lenses and then they broke in half. It was $147 plus the $11 or $13 fee to inspect them. I told them thats absurd when I can buy a new pair online for the same price basically. They don't even repair them they send you a new pair whether its a $15 fix or a $100 fix. I'm not very happy about it. I just bought a new pair that were different.

When I sent mine to be repaired they charged me aroun d $110 and they sent me a new pair. Broke the lens again and I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore. I've moved on to Ray Bans.

I've had my frames replaced for free a couple of times without a warranty. Never have tried the lenses.

They replaced mine for just the cost of shipping but the lenses didn't scratch, they delaminated. The coating was peeling off and when I called customer service, they said it was a known issue. So maybe "delamination" is the key phrase to use.

Broke mine in half right down the nose piece. Cost me the $12 inspection. My lenses were in good shape so I'm not sure but the lenses seemed new. They could have just cleaned them up really well.

Never heard of that website. Thx

This is why I quit buying Costas.
It's kind of like paying $90 to have a $120 pair of shoes resoled.

yep, frick Costa Del Mar. I was a huge fan of theirs and had 2 pair years ago until I had to send them in for:
1. one pair was their old aviators and I was talking to an engineer on the job one day and the lens literally fell out of the frame and landed on the concrete. The piece of shite rubber they use on the nose guard that disintegrates with sweat is the same piece of shite rubber they used as a spacer inside the frame and it just rotted away. I called them and they told me they had a 2 week turnaround so I sent them to them with a signature required, they didn't "check them in" their repair center for 8 weeks and then told me there would be a 75 dollar charge to replace the lenses since they were glass, plastic would be 50. I argued with them for about 20 minutes and realized that they just didn't give a shite about a customer so I paid them the 75 to replace them. Got them back and rarely wore them.
Fast forward a year and I decided to wear them to work and the leg fell off the first time I wore them and they landed on the road and cracked a lense so I called them and told them about it, again they said send them in. They got them and they said that they could no longer fix those because they were discontinued and they didn't have the lenses anymore so I could pick a pair I wanted. i picked out the ones I wanted but then they wanted an uncharge fee for trying to get a different color lens than i originally had and that the glasses now had plastic lenses so i couldn't get glass lenses in them. I argued with them and told them I paid to have them replaced a year earlier and went back and forth until they finally sent me a pair of plastic lensed glasses of my choosing. I just gave them to my dad because I hated them when I got them.
I wear Maui Jim now because I have had great service from their service department. I had a pair of frameless titanium ones break on the nose guard and called them and explained that I had a golf tournament in a week if they could expedite it, they sent me a new pair with a letter telling me to just put my old ones in the box and send it back.
