Just built one. When it’s all said and done, with landscaping, lighting, etc...100k. That’s fiberglass pool, with heating and cooling. Was gonna go with salt water, but went with the UV pool. Had never heard of UV, but it’s supposedly the new thing in pools. No water features except 2 bubblers, and LED lighting. Everything can be controlled with an app on your phone. Other than that, noting really special. Standard concrete with no waterfalls etc.
Pool without landscaping was 72k

That kid is more apt to run out from the driveway and you strike him with your vehicle in the street, but I bet you drive every day.

dude, we are considering an 18 x 36 concrete pool and it STARTS at $82k without any accompanying fixtures like patio improvements or overhead covers.
Our budget is $100-120k. shite is fricking expensive.

In Texas the basic cost starts at $25,000 just to do the digging. The price goes up from there.
I think if you roll it into the mortgage when you build the house.

All depends on size
Smaller is better
Cheaper
Less expensive to maintain
Trust me

I think my wife has talked herself out of it. We have an upcoming 9th grader and a 12th grader. So it's not really for the kids. The good thing is she's the one who is frugal and takes care of the money or else we would never have any. I realized this long ago that I suck at money management. So I figured she would balk at the pool once prices came back.
Had the pool been around 30-35k, we could have paid cash for all but 5k and just cash flowed the 5k over the few weeks it took to finish. But now, the idea of having to borrow turned her off on the whole idea. I was supportive because it's not like we couldn't do the payment, but it's the idea of the unnecessary debt that she just can't live with. Kind of glad because now maybe I can start building my outdoor kitchen. I'm not much of a pool person anyway.

I’ve never worked with a pool contractor that offered financing

You’ll find the older the kids get the less they use the pool.

Fiberglass is the way, short and long term. No further maintenance ever. Lifetime warranty.
Ready to swim in a few days, not weeks.

They provide you with the financing companies they typically work with a lot.

of the overall landscape that's tied back to the home, not at all. There is a certain level of home where the pool is a feature and integrated as part of the home. Some buyers are not worried maintenance or upkeep. It's just another expense as a yard service. It's not a simple broad brush stroke like that.
Pretty much this
Love my pool
Allows us to spend much more time out in the back
Nothing like a smokin pit, some cocktails and jumping in.
Do t forget to add a chiller for those dog days of August.

How long have you had it for?
Posted on 5/9/20 at 5:57 pm to dyslexiateechur
Came with the house.
Had it replastered about ten years ago for 5K
As mentioned, the maintenance is not bad as long as you stay on top of it. Couldn’t imagine paying someone to do what takes a couple of hours a week.

Ours is fiberglass, about 20 years old. Came with the house. At this point I pay $75 a month for someone to maintain it. We had it converted to saltwater but went back to chlorine when the cell died last year.

Same here

The average price is 50-70k. I’ve had to do an obnoxious amount of research on pools for a client, so despite the fact that I don’t own a pool I know a lot about them.
