Plecos by far. Plenty of cool looking varieties. Built like trucks also.

Corydoras are kind of boring to me. Plus they like to be kept in shoals

Gold Nugget Pleco FTW

Also love Blue Eyes, Green Phantoms, Zebra L46, Leopard Cactus.

I used to have this one, but black corduroy with white accents.

Sweetest jacket ever. Some chick took it as a keepsake after a night of debauchery

I've always liked the Zebra Plecos

I'm going to get another tank when I move. Something I used to do before moving where I currently live, right now dont have the space or money.

Having a reef tank is a bucket list item, not sure if I will make the jump when I move though, freshwater is easier and cheaper.

Plecos have a high bio waste. They are filthy. Some of the smaller versions are good. The zebra pleco is awesome, but expensive. I prefer the smaller otocinclus and sae.

I agree

I also hate when I see people who have plecos in small tanks. Yeah they might be small when you buy them at the pet store but these things can get up to a foot long. I hate when people buy them for their 10 or 20 gallon tanks and think they will stay the same size, and use them to clean the glass and such.

The place I get my haircut is guilty of this. They had a pleco in their tank which was no bigger than 20 gallons. It's not there anymore, I am assuming it got too big for the tank and died. Must be a shitty way to go out, when your insides and organs keep growing but your body isn't

Pretty sure that's not true.

A fish's growth can be stunted from these adverse conditions, but it doesn't die from the organs outgrowing the body.

Completely agree that too many people get fish they can't keep. I blame pet stores for most of this.

I was going to offer Rockbrc in this thread a home for his plecos if he lives near me and they get too big. They go well in my pond

My friend worked at a PETCO when Finding Nemo came out.

Said that multiple times a shift some mom would come in with her kids asking for a "Nemo" and a "Dory" and just assumed they could put them in a bowl or some shitty 5 gallon starter tank kit.

PETCO has a policy where they can refuse a pet sale to a customer if the employee doesn't believe the pets will be properly taken care of. My friend had to enforce this one a lot, said a lot of pissed off soccer moms would ask to see a manager when refused sale, and the moms would bitch how their kids were going to cry at home when they learned they weren't going to get the Nemo and Dory they wanted.
