Had a similar experience with an F-Type R.

I've been more relaxed in a track car.

I loved that car, though.

They seem to be pretty solid, reliable cars.

You have to decide if you are willing to drive a track-focused car on the street. If you are never going to track the car the Stingray makes a LOT more sense for $50k less.

The Z51 stingray is such a great value proposition. 25+ mpg on the highway, can cruise in it for hours. Lots of fun stoplight to stoplight. More than fast and nimble enough for any weekend enthusiast to put it on the track and have a good time. Fairly durable (aside from the dreaded transmission issues which I avoided). Looks good, sounds good, and can be had for $60k or less for a great condition used model.

Exactly this.

They are 2nd or 3rd cars for most, and are generally well-cared for.

There's a local neurosurgeon that has the Z06 C8.

Not sure why a physician like that doesn't buy a Ferrari.

I work with several that drive a C7 Z06 /ZR1 or C8 Z06, not an usual choice, several also own 911 turbo/ GT3 etc in addition to the Vette.

Most of the Ferrari guys I know drive it to Cars & Coffee and Sunday drive while The Corvette and Porsche guys drive the hell out of them.

Considering a c8 z06. For those with one...any issues or regrets of getting one?

Just remember, it will never go back up in value in your lifetime. Too many old white men buy corvettes and think they retain value any value at all. Go in knowing you are buying to use it and throw it away when done basically.

They will have a basement value however.

C7 ZR1 still commands $250k. …C8 Z06, DOHC Flat plane will retain some value
