is usually true. HR types are useless. Trainers are also usually one-size-fits-all retards who don't actually research who they're talking to.

This.

OP it can’t be done. These jobs have been cultivated and grown over years to be its own career. Now they can travel around the country and charge the frick out of people for training or have people come to you. Sigma 6 Black Belts and Studor Principal people have run the scam and are “breaking necks and cashing checks”. To quote Stepbrothers. All you can do is come up with your own line of bullshite, work FOR them, or soak up 8 hours of arse time and drink coffee and eat like shite while trying to stay awake.

The training is likely ticking the checkbox for a regulatory requirement.

This.

The OP should use the opportunity to create synergy with the cute female presenter.

We will see. You never know how a man reacts in this set of circumstances. Most don't have the huge, dice-rolling balls that they always tell people that they have, and they plead guilty to a lesser charge.

That and also so they can say we tried to show him how to do it when it comes time to fire someone. Preventive maintenance on any wrongful termination suit.

And for God's sake don't be a gunner asking a bunch of questions and slowing things down.

As someone who teaches training at times this is sound advice. Although I do enjoy it when that person is asking so many questions that I can hear people saying “frick me” when he asks another one.

If he can take this discussion offline, build a committee, leverage the talents of his team, find some synergies with other committees within the organization, and drive the efforts to implement cost-cutting measures, he could be an all star. It’s all about creating efficiencies.

He's gonna need some bandwidth.
