It's amazing how often institutions freeze and spend time worrying about their public image when they instead need to take quick, decisive action to protect people.

The problem with that professors analysis is that 14 patients are still in the ICU. Unless those numbers have changed, I’ve been looking for an update. The chances of those patients getting out of the ICU after a month are slim.

I have a question as it relates to testing methods. They tested me with a throat and mouth swab. They did not do the nasal swab for me for coronavirus. Is a throat swab for corona just as accurate as a nasal swab?

I ask because I keep reading that the testing is done via a nasal swab and I’m worried my results, whatever it may be, could be inaccurate.

Worldometers showing 41 new deaths and 2600 new cases.

New cases could be due to new testing, but the 41 deaths today is way outside the exponential trend line since March 1st.

Future headline?

In other news...the Florida football program has been suspended indefinitely in a cost saving measure by the school. This move was necessitated as a result of the school losing it's lawsuit related to the Corona virus event in 2020.

Incorrect. He takes that into consideration.

The famous epidemiologist just said on CNN that the breaking point for hospitals should be this weekend. Let’s see if he’s right.

So how is their lab able to run more than just what is being tested in their state???

They were one of the first labs to get up and running and had excess capacity. They put all the info online and allowed doctors from anywhere in the country to send in samples.

Reading about a "super flu" that went through the U.S. back in Dec, where people got sick with real bad coughing that affected the lungs. Cernovich floated it on Twitter and got some interesting replies. Anthony Cumia(from O and A) had it and he sounded awful on his podcast. He commented on it today. Had to leave it for a week or more. Anyone think this may have already visited the U.S. or something relative to it?

On the other end of the spectrum is the diamond princess which didn’t show very many asymptomatics

I thought it was like 320 out of the 634 positive tests they confirmed were asymptomatic?

My local hospital is going to be announcing more cases. Someone I know that works there says they are already overwhelmed

Absolutely, that's the train I'm on.

quote:

Here’s the latest: cautious optimism. Spoke with several senior members of government in both parties and also some medial public health first responders and while they not say to be vigilant and measured and sanitize and all that we’ve been told, they also say that if it’s true that China knew of CoronaVirus in early November, the likelihood that it has already run through parts of this country is massive. Meaning we are way past testing and mitigation. It also means we may...may...have moved through it in parts of the U.S.
Again..this is very cautious optimism. The first responders I spoke with and several doctors say that flu was rough this winter and many people with very similar symptoms to Covid were sent home to recover. Did they already have it? Has it already been thru here?
Thus the rough flu season we’ve experienced already. These are all questions we will know answers to soon enough. I suggest to my colleagues in the media, these are the questions and investigations we should be doing/asking. Politics aside for a couple of weeks. Try it.

Thanks Geaux Medic. I didn't really want to read the last 300 pages I've missed.
