re: Cornell University Situation Is Going To Turn Into Another Duke Lacrosse Case Isn't It?

I haven't followed this too closely but my takeaway is it's become like every other battle in the culture war, with both sides locking into the narrative that fits their ideological position, regardless of what the facts are.

The facts are pretty bad for the girl in this one. Shouldn't be anything ideological about it.

I would say the facts don't look good for anybody involved. Even if there was no crime these guys moral character and judgment was extremely questionable. If my kid decided it was acceptable to get shitfaced and engage in a gangbang I would consider myself to have failed in my parenting.

Thank you. Yes. I think what makes rape challenging is that people tend to analyze the alleged victim’s state of mind rather than the alleged aggressor’s. No one ask the victim of any other type of crime whether they invited it. Legally, whether a robbery occurred doesn’t depend on whether the victim was walking through a bad neighborhood.
This is because alleged victim’s intent is not what makes a crime. The prosecution has to prove that the alleged aggressor committed the act and had the intent to commit it. The victim’s statement here is important, but I think more important are the statements and actions taken by males 3-7. That is where the Snap Chat comes in. Did they know she was drunk and high when they came in? Did 5 guys in a room leave her under the impression that she had to consent to sex with someone? None of us know these things.
So, I defer to my original post on page 2 of this thread. This is not a Duke lacrosse situation. The Snap Chat exposes these guys criminal liability. The fact that the university issued different punishments to different men, including expulsion, indicates that serious misconduct occurred.

It's funny how LNCH downvotes anyone who questions the guys character. Dude is as bad as the men hating women taking to social media.
And when I say funny, I mean funny in a sad and pathetic way not funny as in humorous.

This is probably the best breakdown of the whole situation from her very own words:
Oh and now that it is out there in mainstream reports, this is ALLEGEDLY her:
quote:
By her own sworn statement in November 2024, Jane Doe never claimed that FratBoy5 and FratBoy6 did anything.
According to his attorney, Fratboy5 did not use drugs or even see Jane naked. He even submitted a hair follicle test that was negative for ketamine.
Walking into a room after a consensual threesome does not constitute gang rape.
FratBoy1 was involved in the first consensual threesome with FratBoy2.
Jane had gone to the frat house because she was interested in FratBoy1 and admits she was excited when he suggested a threesome.
Jane Doe rated her intoxication as a 5 or 6 at this point.
All three of them snorted ketamine.
This threesome stopped because Fratboy1 passed out and she wanted Fratboy2 to check on him.
FratBoy2 also began dry heaving.
Jane then opened the door for FratBoy4 since it was his room.
They began making out and then FratBoy2 joined in and it became the second consensual threesome.
At one point FratBoy1 woke up and asked if he could make it a foursome, but Jane said "hell no" and he did not get involved.
FratBoys 4,5,6 and 7 then entered. She claims she hid under the covers
Fratboy7 said something “very rude and mean,” apologized and then grabbed her face and started kissing her. She indicated that she pulled away.
Fratboy2 then offered her more ketamine and she snorted it off his penis.
Fratboy4 suggested snorting ketamine off her body and did so.
Fratboy3 then returned and told everyone to get out of his room.
Jane then went upstairs with FratBoy1 and FratBoy 4, did more ketamine, and then had a third threesome. She rated her intoxication as a 7 or 8.
The next day, she did not tell her roommates she was gang raped. Roommates later told investigators she recounted the night in a way that seemed shocked or even laughing.
Jane asked FratBoy1 to hang out again, but without the ketamine or other frat boys.
Rumors spread around the school, and Jane was eventually disinvited from the Halloween Party.
On November 8th, she went to the police.
The District Attorney's reading of her sworn statement was that it described drug use and sexual conduct as voluntary, conscious, and consensual, and that sexual activity stopped when she asked.
Her claims in the civil suit completely contradict her sworn statement from November 2024.
The defamation suits that arise from this case will be record-setting.

Agreed. It's been proven and commonly repeated her statements are inconsistent and hazy at best but it will be interesting to see how similar and consistent the statements are from the other 7 plus anyone else who may have been in contact with the 7.

I mean, that's just an epic spin job. A better description is that she had zero problem with what happened until she was shamed.

We have seen her statements and this is a lie

1 - no you haven't. You have seen reports of her statement and a DA's account. You have not seen her statement. This is a lie
2 - what about what I said was a lie?

Is the “victim” black?
Doubt it
Why are we comparing this to duke lacrosse? That was way more about race than believe all women

I try to look at facts. I try hard not to prejudge things and take it all in before drawing conclusions.
I will admit that there have been so many of these hoaxes that I am predisposed to not believe the women, but I still just look at it all
And this one is so egregious that even freaking Sunny Hostin from the View is siding with the guys. Think about that

Agree but she said the first two guys were more intoxicated than she was. Did she "rape" them?

There was nothing "Hazy" about her statements. In fact she was rather adamant that the guys were drunker than she was. She was pretty detailed in the goings on down to snorting ketamine off of cocks

This really should end this whole fiasco, but some of the knights are dug in too deep

Yes, she did, and they are actually alleging that now.

Thats not all what the documents from Cornell's Title IX investigation state.
In the days after she said it was illegal (via text), she never said she had zero problem with it. You're just making shite up. It's sad.
