I usually side with cops on these types of videos, but that is tough to watch and no way it needed to escalate like that...

It's obvious with his basketball size knees on the ground is a bad idea

What led to an elderly man who called cops for shots fired to be tasered? Cops are definitely in the wrong here and should face the consequences, but I just have to wonder why their tasers where drawn on him.

Why is the cop asking him to get on the ground? Does he have a weapon?

No indication that he did. No metnion in report. He is the one who called 911

From what I could tell, he heard gunshots

Idiot. Watch the video before you make a fool out of yourself.

The elderly man was white. The bitch cop appears to be black.

Just looked at the court record in the case. Both parties (the family and the cops/city) have pending motions for summary judgment before the court.

They haven't had a trial yet.

That said, I downvoted because you quoted the fricking youtube summary and because... well, it's you.

I thought we were supposed to excuse females in male-dominated professions from any responsibility?

They lifted that summary from a website that is not allowed to be linked here.

He said he couldn't get down on the ground when the video clearly shows him getting down on the ground. Seems cops were correct to doubt his story.

That is fricking sickening. Goes to show you how unwilling people are for indicting officers.

One of the main reasons that the BLM and response to it infuriated me was that I think police brutality, abuse of power, et al is a very significant problem impacting us all.

Also if the cop was white and the elderly man was black this would be national news.

All kidding aside, is this woman is not brought up on at least manslaughter charges is beyond me.

1. Guy is not moving
2. His hands are clearly visible
3. He clearly identifies himself as disabled and thus unable to get on the ground.

No reasonable person would view this disabled old man just standing still in his driveway with hands up, visible, and empty as any sort of threat that calls for him to be tazed like that.

This stupid bitch needs to go to prison for a very long time. But of course that won't happen because she "feared for her life".

That's gross.

That is 100% manslaughter, so absurd.
