I cannot stand when stories like these result in the cops offering 0 apology or accountability for THEIR mistake. It's like they think they are above making mistakes, you're just lucky you get to live and are free. It's a bullshite attitude and actively hurts them with the community they're serving.

Nobody cares. People aren't complaining because they think ALL cops are bad. People are complaining because the good cops cover for the bad cops 100% of the time, even in comically stupid situations like this. It's bad PR plain & simple

What I don't understand is the weight that is giving a written report when there is a body cam video of the event. They will take the report as gospel and try to spin the video to fit it. Is it usually the non cops that submit the body cam video as evidence at trial? Especially when the written report deviates from the video?

Bad cops are less than 1%

I'd bet good money it's more than that.

Less than 1% bad my arse. It’s way way higher. And the rest are just dumb.

There are millions of cops and many more millions of encounters every year. The fact that this happens maybe a 8 time a year, says the overwhelming majority of cops are highly trained and skilled. Its literally 0.00001% of situations. That's actually an incredible statistic considering the amount of guns, intoxicants, and mental illness present in our society.

The boot polish has fried your brain.

Eight bad examples of bad policing a year? Are you kidding me? There are at least that many reported every week. Over 600 people were falsely arrested for DUI in TN alone. You know it's when the state legislature had to take control of the investigation because the departments were clearing themselves of no wrong doing. Five officers are now finding themselves staring at federal indictments. Go cry for them.
