Take your fricking ticket and move on with your life.
That's what any normal law abiding citizen would do, black or white. But most of these people are career criminals with lengthy rap sheets and they know they are either holding something illegal or any ticket puts them back in jail and then they start resisting and disobeying orders.

Bingo. They have nothing to lose so they’ll do anything to not go back to jail

You should have just stopped there.
At least I don't support a police state and call myself a small-government conservative.

I'd like to see what led up to him shooting the guy, but if you go after a cops taser that's dumb.
And why these cops are riding around solo in shady neighborhoods I will never understand, shortages or not.

How about a white male named Tony Timpa, killed just like Floyd yet not a peep heard.
Oh good, so as long as race isn't a factor, it's okay for the government to kill citizens without due process.
I'm glad that's settled.
My point is that we ALL should be outraged when the state kills citizens without due process, and when there's no immediate threat to life. I find it shocking when people are uncaring when the government kills citizens, black or white. I contrast the response to this act to the responses I've seen (more on the Poli-board, admittedly) to the woman being arrested at the ball park and Ashli Babbitt. There ARE inconsistencies, whether people want to admit it or not.

That situation was normal enough the cop's record reflects he was convicted of absolutely nothing
Be that as it may, that isn’t the norm. Again, you are being disingenuous.

It happens more than it should. Daniel Shaver, just off the top of my head. Plus many others we never hear about.
I agree.
Yet, it isn’t the norm. Acting as though it is doesn’t compute.

quote:I mostly agree with that. I’m not sure it’s really applicable to the situation in the op as the officers safety was likely at risk when he was unable to control the suspect and the suspect was able to get his hands on the officers taser.

The officer put his own safety at risk unnecessarily.

when he was unable to control the suspect
Sometimes suspects get out of control. That doesn't mean they necessarily deserve to die.

The officer should be trained to never allow this to happen.

There are much bigger problems in the world to worry about. These are one off instances that the media and BLM make people believe is more widespread than it really is.

guess the cop should've just shot her in the back of the head, right?
What law was she being arrested for?

quote:Never is an impractical standard, but even agreeing with your standard, should the officer leave his safety and the safety of the public to chance when a suspect is able to take away an officers weapon? Even if the officer made some mistakes that contributed to the dangerous situation, is he then not allowed to defend himself from a criminal who has taken his weapon?
The officer should be trained to never allow this to happen.

Alternate story: Man steals cop's taser, uses it on him, then executes cop with his own gun
