This is just ridiculous.
He missed the dog that was about to kill him, yet he's still alive? He didn't give a frick about others around him?
Why can't these psychopath government employees be held to a higher standard?

Solution: if a cop wants to carry a gun, he has to strap on a bulletproof vest and take a shot to the chest.
What could go wrong with this idea? LINK

One of these days this is going to happen to the wrong family, and there will be bigger reprecussions than the cop getting a paid vacation.
If some tPOS ever hurt one of my children there would be issues. At least she is learning early who protects and serves her.

Riot police get shot with a 12 gauge beanbag at 30 yards, and stand in a room full of teargas.

is very difficult to get both prongs to hit on a dog running at you.
Apparently it was difficult for this jerkoff to hit a charging dog with a bullet

Love how everyone calls the cop a pussy when you know damn well every poster here would have done the exact same.
Uh, no. I don't just shoot, I aim, and not at a child. Cop is a fricking idiot.
Edit: I wouldn't shoot at anything with a person in front of me. I'm sure they teach that at cop dog killing school.

So what you're saying is that you have a pitbull...

No. He is saying that he is a cop and that shooting the kid was possibly justified because for all we know the dog grabbed his gun and pulled the trigger.

No I'm saying that we don't no what really happened because the article gives very little detail.
And any opinions on this is based solely on assumptions and biases.

What details are missing? It says clearly that the officer shot at a dog inside a home but missed and hit a 4 year old.

No, no, I know that anyone with half a brain doesn't shoot a child.

Where was the child when it occurred?
Was the child in plain view of the officer?
Where was the dog in relation to the child?
Where was the dog in relation to the officer?
How big and how much danger is the dog?
Was the bullet deflected prior to hitting the child?
Complete eye witness statements?

No it doesn't. The officer and dog were outside at the time of the shooting.

Good lord. So you're saying there's a reasonable chance that the cop is NOT at fault here?
Please describe the scenario in which you think the cop is justified in shooting the 4 year old. Did the cop die after missing the dog?
The mind of a cop..

Not saying he is justified.
Kid is gonna get paid.
But before we assume the cop was an out of control pyschopath lets just get some details first.
Could be just a misfortunate mishap due to a mistake. Every story doesn't have to have a villain.
He is without a doubt at fault because you have to be able to account for your rounds, but we don't have enough detail to make a determination to his negligence.
