If a kingpin were to do this instead of a cop, everyone including cops would want to bring him to justice.

He shot at a fricking dog while approaching a home and hit a 4 year old. That's really all the information you need. I seriously doubt you give civilian suspects on the street such benefit of doubt.

Seriously. If you received a call where a pizza delivery guy walked up to a home, shot at a dog and hit 4 year old kid instead, do you make an arrest there?

You cops are your own worst enemy. You defend each other to the bitter end, rarely accept responsiblity, and you don't weed enough bad seeds out. I bet the cops will refuse to pay for the family's medical bills, as well.

Sure I do. Civilians accidently shoot each other all the time and aren't charged.

Most regular civilians don't have supposed weapons training nor have they taken an oath to protect.

True, that's why he is at fault and the department will probably pay them a settlement.

No they won't. The city or parish will. You guys are so flippant about these things because it doesn't come out of your budget and most of the time you don't lose your job.
