Love em? I frickin hate em. McDonalds needs to let us shove preservative injected addictive food down our fat frickin gullets in peace so I can die at 45.
I can remember when we had to eat MREs in the middle of Iraq I would say “man, these MREs taste terrible and there’s sand all over my food but at least I don’t have to watch a homeless person eat from 25 feet away from me”, then I would proceed to dig a hole in the sand to take a shite...

A small percentage are mentally ill and have my sympathy. There was a guy that stayed under the Common Street overpass who would do perfect military drills. He was bowed up too. He was there for several years. He never begged but I would give him money. He also bagged up his trash.
Three white junkies cornered me by my car one day when I stupidly was down there with no dogs. The military vet guy came over and they were scared off by the muscled up black guy. In the years he was there, he never spoke a word. When I gave him money, he nodded.

I have photos of the area under Murphy Street Overpass where the bum litter piles was several feet deep over a wide area.
The do gooders are the shitty ones. Want to feed the bums? Do it at your house. The residents of the area I am talking about are mostly poor and elderly and they are the ones who suffer the effects of bumtown. The rich whites who come in as do gooders go back to their bumfree neighborhoods.

I’m not sure most of these guys, especially photography-boy, understands that the military spends the better part of a year or longer indoctrinating you into a very violent culture, during wartime, and at a very impressionable age. They deploy you, use you, and when your time is up- you can a day or two of ‘transitioning back to the civilian world’ classes. No job prospects, no degree, and a lot of your skills don’t transfer over.
Some of you boys need to realize that you’ve lived a life of luxury. Many of you went to private school and never had to worry about the military because daddy’s money was going to pay for you to go to school.

And it is hard to get help for someone who is mentally ill but not a junkie or drunk. I do most of the interdictions in my parish and it is very difficult to find a place for someone who is schizoid unless they are also junkies. There is a schizoid in my parish now who is going to kill someone ... He is very scary. But the long term places like CADA won't take him because he doesn't drink or use drugs.

As a veteran, I don't care about any of that. I just think it's funny to watch people get uppity about a restaurant that bases it's decorating choices on how easy it is to disinfect the seats.

I understand the military very well and the plight of the veterans.
A small percentage of the bums I see are veterans. The few that are are often victimized by other bums who steal their money when there check comes in.

Probably not a bad idea ... There are some seriously scary mentally ill people out and about because Louisiana doesn't have a place for them. They can go to LSU (now some other name) in Shreveport for a few days, and that is about it.
