When I was a teenager I worked for a family friend during the summer.

This happened to us but on a much smaller scale. We went to the wrong house in the town of Livingston and tore the roof off. The owner comes home for lunch and was not happy.

However at the end of the day our boss took responsibility and the guy got a new roof for free.

70k for that roof is stupid. I think roofers love to rip people off but 70k is a whole new level.

I see several posts saying to sue the company. If it’s some tiny mom and pop time company then would it matter if they sue? Where’s the money going to come from?

It’s 70k for the roof and water damage incurred due to the roof being removed.

How much fault does the fricking idiot who gave the wrong address get in OTs opinion? Roofer deserves all the lawsuits coming 100%. But what should he try to recoup of that 100% from the stupid frick that doesn’t even know their own address.

Is that what happened or did the guy get address wrong himself or maybe company dispatcher gave him wrong address?

I personally haven’t seen a roofer take a job over the phone or internet without actually coming to house first. Biggest problem we have are the ones that come around after storms to give free estimates include a lot of scammers and a lot of unqualified or unlicensed people.

Where to begin?

Trespassing
Property damage...

The list goes on. This will not end well for the contractor.
