Same here. 2012 Altima has 130,000 and my 2016 has 68,000.
Nissan has a bad rap on their CVTs because their first couple of years were bad. They are now reliable but put them in just about every damn vehicle they make. Only the Armada and trucks do not use them.
So there ate a ton of these things on the road and a lot more than any other manufactureso naturally you will here about more failures.
Most Nissan dealers offer a lifetime warranty if you get your scheduled maintenance with them. I would not buy a used one.
Also, the newer unit shift just like a typical automatic unless you are really getting on it. In normal driving, you would not know it was a cvt.

DON’T. At least with Nissans after 70k. Personal experience with a 2013 Sentra.
And a 2015 Sentra.

CVT has been around for decades.
Current vehicle is a 2013 Toyota with a CVT and haS over 160k trouble free miles.
