If I could telecommute from anywhere then I'd probably live in Redlands, CA. Might would need a pay increase to match the relatively higher salaries in that area in order to compensate for the higher COL though. If I'm poorer and COL is more of an issue then I'd probably look at Houston suburbs. Or maybe Phoenix.

After experiencing a winter in the North. I'm really not sure why anyone would willingly live there.
I'm working on a project in Ann Arbor right now. The temperature this morning is -20 with a windchill of -33...this winter can't end soon enough for me. Lol

shite mane, I thought you just moved back here?
I've been back in the area since I got home from Afghanistan in '05, but I started working away from home in '08 and usually only make it home for a few weeks out of the year.

Raleigh is nice, but its 12 degrees right this second and its going down to single digits in the morning and its going to snow in a day or two.
Moved to Wake Forest from cent FL and I was overwhelmed with how cold it got and how much it snowed there. Nice area and four seasons - just wasn't ready for the cold/snow.

I have lived in the Charlotte, NC area since 93 and will never leave. 2 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the beach.
Pending my wife's residency match next month, I hope to be moving there in a few months and can't wait.
Have lived in Louisiana (south for 28 years & north for the last 2) and am really really looking forward to getting out of here.

Those that say don't move, have never lived outside of the state and probally too scared to do so.
Never understood the sentiment that if you move you hate/turn your back on Louisiana.
There are many, many transplants that still rep the Boot.

Charlotte, NC[/qute]
[quote]quote:I'm actually leaving charlotte today. Sold our house, left my job, moving to Madison, MS. Getting closer to family and the outdoors. Leaving behind the sanctimonious liberal ideologies that consume that place.
I find this hilarious because I've been in Charlotte a few years and sometimes feel suffocated by the Christian fundamentalist, mega church on every corner thing they've got going on here. Not to mention the heaping amounts of good old fashioned redneck culture.
I mean, the place is the headquarters of Billy Graham and NASCAR for shite's sake.
That being said, it is a nice place to live as a whole. Especially if you're raising a family.
Right? lol

I'd love to make it to San Antonio someday. I love the area from what I've experienced and it's where my company's corporate office is.
