Knowing Southern politicians we would still be fighting over creating a unified rail system.....you know, like the one that the North had that allowed them to get 25,0000 troops to different theaters of the war in a week.

but bafoons here that say “we” when talking about the Confederacy is pretty fascinating.
So you never include yourself as a “we” in discussing past American events?
What about in discussions of sports teams that you are a fan of but have never played for. I’m born and raised a southerner with ancestors who fought for the South. Count me as a bafoon, I guess.

My ggg grandfather was there as well. He was a sergeant in the 39th Ga.. The Gilmer Tigers. He was paroled in the prisoner exchange and returned home to Georgia. Soon thereafter, the regiment was re-formed and was mobilized to re-join the army at Chattanooga.

This is where James Dutton was captured. While he was serving, his wife Margaret was hooking up with Jody and that crazy assed kid, Elsa, resulted

I can’t imagine voluntarily trying to tie yourself to the failed scourge that was the Confederacy

Been gone for 160 years.
Democrats are real, and current and are as bad or worse than confederates.
your cult is real, theirs isn't.

He's probably proud of his 1960's left wing terrorist activities. Those werent Americans though. Commies aren't American.

Did when I was a kid, and loved it.
Would like to do a CW battlefield tour someday.

Dems are the primary reason for the normalizing of insanity.
You people have never faced the consequences for your actions. Its time.
Hopefully you get the government you vote for. I'll be very entertained.

The south’s pathetic economy was wholly reliant on slave labor, of course they wouldn’t have given it up. They tried to break up the entire damn country for it, but I’m sure they would have just given it up willingly if they won (lol).

Does it make you feel better to believe these convenient fairy tales?

I once read that the CSA cannons overlooking the Miss River were shooting way over the Union ships coming down the river.
Most cannon shots by the CSA cannons went harmlessly onto the other side of the Miss River.
If you have been to the Vicksburg bluffs, its easy to see that there was a huge tactical advantage the CSA cannons had on the Union ships.
It should have been a turkey shoot on the Union ships.
I think only one Union ship was sunk at the Battle of Vicksburg.
