Also, people need to chill on giving him a hard time about that beach. Most beaches are big enough that you can easily escape the crowd, or be in the middle of it if you want.

Though I'd wager that this crew rolls down with 6 toddlers and they'll magically have plenty of space wherever they go.

I typically set up a low profile beach chair or two as close to the ocean as possible (big waves may get your feet wet). With young kids to watch, I wouldn’t want to be too far from the ocean. I’m not bringing an umbrella or a 12x12 tent in this situation (i typically sacrifice quality of sand/water to set up a nice tent in front of a rental house, instead of a high rise condo). I do not get upset when someone sets up shop in front of me. The “base camp” is the tent/umbrella. Any area that could get remotely wet is fair game for beach chairs.

BEACH or [MOUNTAINS]

Why not both?
We once did the triple special. Spent the night in Santa Monica and 1/2 a day at the beach before going 3 hours to Big Bear Lake in the Mountains east of LA (freak snow storm the day before made it a mess so we left a day early) and the next day went to the desert at Joshua Tree NP.

I fricking loathe the whole ordeal. Mainly the reason I stopped going to SanDestin and now go to more secluded areas.

The front rowers always seem to have terrible taste in music too. I’m generally a fan of all music types but it seems the beach just brings out the crazy.

There’s been black guy listening to soul gospel 5 ft in front of me.

White trash teen mom and dad listening to hard core gangster rap in front of my kids.

Bama fan w sweet home Alabama on repeat.

Grandma who was shite faced and loved jello shots, funnels, all things Jason Aldean.

Gotta love the front rows that park in front of the paid rentals.

Dude that isn't a beach it is a fricking elevator over the weight limit.

I can't imagine going to a beach with that many people on it.

This is a beach, might see 20 people on during an entire day.

Amen! Exactly why I don't go to the Gulf Coast.

can see how some real fists have flown over that fiasco in your OP.

with the dueling boom boxes playing Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Luke B, and jimmy Buffet they make a beach uninhabitable
