I feel like the people standing in line at the venue are just standing in line for someone else to click through ticket master for them..... Which is a terrible strategy

That's how I feel, but did not know if the VENUE has special blocks for the people that actually took the time to show up? Would make some sense but, who knows?

Go to arena and hang out around the back entrance where the band enters. Pretend like you're a part of the crew. Sneak in and enjoy the show

Check for presale tickets , which is normally the day before general sale. I just went through Ticketmaster's bullshite , purchasing tickets for The Cure . I was using my phone , iPad and laptop and it was still difficult. I had the best success with Ticketmaster's app. Good luck.
