Yes, that is a very important part of history, you leave it so you can learn from it and not repeat it.

Those are still basically the same flag just updated to 2014. They're the same colors and you can feel them trying to hide the stars and bars in them.

Mississippi needs to do something completely different.

Yes, and also used as a symbol of many secessionist sympathizers and states in the years/months/days leading up to the Civil War (e.g., see Mississippi's 1861 flag).

Let the good folks of Mississippi vote on it.

I thought they already did that a few years ago.

It's kind of like the votes that many countries had on whether to join the EU. If the result is not what the elites want, they will keep giving you the opportunity to vote until you vote they way they desire.

The stars make no sense at all. Mississippi came into the union as state #20.

The confederate flag has 13 stars.

Those two flags have 22 stars.

I would prefer to see 20 stars on the flag, spaced out in a circle.

Flags should not have words on them. I like #2, with the words removed, and make the part in the upper right the whole flag.

Flag won't be changed. Just a few years ago they had a state wide vote on it. Current flag got almost 70% yes. Even some counties that were predominately African-American voters voted to keep it.

I think that some flags with words are damn cool. For example that of the St. Augustine Independent Blues.

Certainly truth in this. However I think in MS the elites like the current flag. The Governor is a member of the SCV.

I would agree and certainly don't advocate for any change, but in this case I think there may be other elites that are more elite than the MS elites, if you catch my drift.

Well the North American Vexillogical Association disagrees with you. Are you a licensed Vexillogicist? Didn't think so, buddy.
