That’s true, but the task bar search is still kind of garbage at that in Windows 11.
It seemed a little better in 10 but maybe I’m misremembering.

If the popup ads seem really excessive you probably are infected with malware. Hopefully your work IT people can clean you up. The bad guys have gotten very adept at slipping a Trojan Horse in.
Internet searches have become extremely annoying. Google may be the worst for dumping a long list of paying customers on you in front of the correct sites. That's how they make lots of money. Load the Tor browser and search with Duck Duck Go.
